Book cover of A Walk with the Master

A Walk with the Master

"Thank you for a sharing your book. I finished reading it a few days ago. It must have been a tremendous undertaking. I appreciate your thoughts, insights, and testimony. Thanks to you and your wife for sharing your journey. I admire your examples and how you have pressed forward in faith in all your trials. I believe we have angels watching over us always, even when often it feels like no one is there for us. I think we will find out someday that the Savior was right beside us every step of the way."

"I received this book free for a review. While I'm not a follower of this religion or even the belief system, I actually enjoyed reading this. Parts were a little preachy for me, but all in all, it was written well and with passion. I always love reading stories of people finding themselves. Finding happiness and self love comes in many forms and even in this form, it's refreshing in a world where so many give up."

A Walk with the Master: One Person's Journey to Christ by David Alan Armstrong is an honest recounting of the author's journey from a superficial understanding of Christianity to a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.... Ultimately, this book is a testament to Armstrong's transformation and growing faith, aiming to help readers grasp the relevance of Christ's life and teachings in their own spiritual journey. I feel like we are living in a time when people are turning more intentionally toward faith, and this makes A Walk with the Master by David Alan Armstrong both timely and relatable. Even as a non-Christian, there were several instances where Armstrong's writing, which is strong and convincing, had a hopeful, soothing quality to it. I loved how Armstrong shared that when faced with trials and storms in life, one should have faith in Christ and turn to Him. Just as He calmed the storm at sea, He can provide peace and guidance in our own lives if we have faith in Him. Armstrong's work instills hope in readers by emphasizing Jesus' invitation to come unto Him and find rest and that it is never too late. He tells us that following a talk about the Atonement, he awakened to the possibility of Jesus' profound sacrifice and felt compelled to respond and embark on a personal journey toward Christ. Armstrong comes across as heartfelt, authentic, and well-versed, and the result is a book that is accessible to readers in all 'walks' of life. Recommended."

I Will Always Love You

"I Will Always Love You: Two Books, One Love by David Alan Armstrong is a tender and soul-searching Christian romance that explores the intersection of love, memory, faith, and redemption. In this emotionally charged narrative, middle-aged Josh grapples with the slow unraveling of his marriage and the spiritual dryness that has crept into his life. Haunted by the vibrant, bittersweet memories of his first love, Emmie, he embarks on a journey not just to reconnect with her but to rediscover himself. This is a tale that captures the highs of adolescent love and the quiet desperation of adult disillusionment. As Josh confronts his choices and rekindles a sense of divine purpose, the novel unfolds into a heartfelt meditation on second chances and the enduring power of grace. Rich in emotional complexity and spiritual insight, this is a story for anyone who has ever longed to go back to move forward.

"Author David Alan Armstrong brings a vivid sense of nostalgia to this tale with warm, smooth writing. The narrative voice is filled with gentility, but never shies away from being honest about the pangs and struggles that come with life and love. There’s a lot of depth and discovery devoted to faith and grace, which allows the Christian themes to be wide-reaching and relatable, whether readers are devout or not. This book will certainly move anyone who has struggled with regrets and the desire for redemption. Josh’s tale has a sharp narrative focus while he undergoes transformative moments, showing the real impact of love and faith. This poignant and spiritually resonant love story reminds us that it’s never too late to seek healing and hope. Through Josh’s eyes and the well-penned dialogue he has with others on his journey, there’s a genuine, realistically paced story of growth that will certainly inspire anyone to seek similar positive change. Overall, I Will Always Love You is a rare combination of nostalgic romance and spiritual introspection that lingers long after the final page, and I would not hesitate to recommend it."

"I Will Always Love You: Two Books – One Love by David Alan Armstrong tackles the subject of young love, memories, triggers, discovery, faith, and Jesus, and captures the attention of the reader from the prologue to the very last page. The twist at the end brings home to the reader exactly how God works in our lives when we let Him, when we need Him, and when we don’t even realize we need Him. In Book One, we meet the main characters, Josh Blackburn, Emmie Baker, Tim Barnes, Corbin Blair, and Reverend Phil Blair. Josh starts his first semester in Grade 9, and there he meets his first love, Emmie, with whom he falls in love. But a series of events brings Corbin Blair into Josh's life and his introduction to faith, God, and Jesus. Young love never runs smooth, and sometimes people can be stubborn and feel that the other person should know that they have been hurt and their trust in that person has been broken. It can be repaired, but they are not interested in repairing it. The author also brings to light how self-centred and jealous youngsters at the age of 14 can be, but in the most delightful way.

"In I Will Always Love You by David Alan Armstrong, an email from Amanda and Riley Fuller, long-time friends, announcing the 25-year reunion of the Michener High School that they all attended triggers Josh to take a journey down memory lane. Josh remembers the first semester of Grade 9, his meeting with Emmie, meeting Riley Fuller, and how they became friends, working with Corbin Blair on the student council, and being introduced to faith and Jesus. The characters take the reader on a journey that is most intriguing and will have them at times in tears, frustrated, angry, and in utter despair. But the twist at the end of the book brings everything together and ends the uncertainty about how the right things were done and the right person was chosen to marry. What a most unusual and exciting story. I found this to be an enlightening read, especially that at the age of 14, Josh was open to accepting faith and built on it. It is a book that the reader will pick up more than once, as there is so much in it that can help the reader in life. Thank you for this most interesting book."

"I just finished reading I Will Always Love You. After finishing I went back and reread 'Book One Prologue' which I think was a great way to bring the experience to a close. What a great, sweet, poignant, emotional narrative. For me this charming, happy, sad, poignant, joyful story with all its character development and twists and turns and heartaches and joys was absolutely wonderful. I haven't read anything like this in many years, and it has been a wonderful experience. I can't believe how emotionally involved I have been. I look forward to reading it again soon... kind of like watching an enjoyable movie again."

Book cover for The Porch

The Porch

"This was a sweet novella of a man on the autism spectrum who finds new levels of emotional understanding in his oft-confusing world after being forced to visit a crotchety man every month at the same time. Armstrong's writing is well-wrought and clean, matching the main character's precise personality.

Having worked with persons on the spectrum for years, I found Edward to be endearing and I was rooting for him. throughout

A very good read."

--Karla J.

"This is such a sweet and special book. It portrays difficult emotions and feelings so beautifully. I hope you will enjoy this special story as much as I have, as it truly touched my heart."

--Don M

"I have no personal experience with autism, but I feel I have a better understanding because of "The Porch." I appreciate viewing it through Edward's eyes."

--C. Wolf

"I  highly recommend this lovely story about a young man with the defining characteristics of autism who is pushed out of his comfort zone and learns to connect with others. The author captures the young man's experience beautifully and I found myself pulled into his worries and rooting for him. I great, quick read. My only complaint is that it isn't long enough and I'd love even more story about Edward! :)"

Book cover for Searching Isaiah

Searching Isaiah

"Of all the books belong to the Old Testament, the Book of Isaiah has to be the most influential one that Jesus himself had to have read. With this being the case, any author that is wishing to dwell into the prophetic nuances of Isaiah's powerful words, words which the Lord himself came to quote many times during His brief time here on Earth, can't just cut to the chase to give readers a quick overview.

The refusal of the book's author, David Armstrong, to take this easy pathway out in compiling this masterful bible study book for the Book of Isaiah, is highly commendable since this book isn't a simple overview, it's a painstaking line by line examination of the book. Each line is fraught with details that will give readers enlightenment as to the meaning of what has gotten written by Isaiah.

Author Armstrong further adds to the beauty of Isaiah's words by his impressions and experiences as he wrote this book. This book is a must-have for any serious devotee or student of the bible, which is why as the voracious reviewer of nonfiction Christian that I am, I'm happy to give author David Armstrong 5 STARS."

--Robin M.

"It is personal exploration through the book of Isaiah, from a Mormon perspective. There were quite a few references I didn't understand, not being Mormon. Anyone's journey through the Holy Bible though, and what the Holy Spirit gives them in understanding, is a blessing."

Book cover for Flooding My Life with the Book of Mormon

Flooding My Life with the Book of Mormon

"This is an inspirational book that will appeal to followers of Jesus, a book that highlights some of the important passages from the Book of Mormon. The messages in this book cover a variety of topics, including hope, the trials of faith, the power of grace, living righteously, building family, a life in Christ, final judgment, repentance, deliverance, God’s power, revelation, salvation, love, the last days, atonement, covenants, the resurrection, and more. This book is written to draw people to Christ and His message. I have never read the Book of Mormon, and while it features books that are not in the traditional Christian Bible, it contains passages that are evocative of Christ’s words in the Gospels. As one reads these spiritual messages, one is inspired by the realization that spirituality is almost the same across all Christian religions. Each passage is followed by a short commentary, a personalized message from the author. Flooding My Life with the Book of Mormon is an easy-to-read book and I loved the simplicity with which the author shares his faith, writing in prose that is beautiful and accessible, and in a voice that is fervent and compassionate. This is one of the books that present some of the essential teachings of Mormon and the core message of Christ."
